This is hilarious - and very true

I'm so tired of reading back-and-forth rants about people who only read/write slash but not het, or het but not slash, or people who read/write both proclaiming themselves superior or blah blah blah. 'If you only read slash, you hate women.' 'If you only read het, you're a homophobe.' 'You need het and slash ships because preferring one over the other means you are not ~enlightened~.' *yawn*

Communities like fandomsecrets often remind me of the idiocies of fandom at large - idiocies that I like to believe I've grown past (although this is certainly a debatable point), and that I'm generally able to avoid because I'm only in one fandom and I only interact with a few people these days.

It also reminds me that it's kind of silly to say you're glad someone 'has the balls to say' something when they're doing it anonymously, but YMMV. :/

I've been posting icons over on drake_art. I haven't crossposted anything to a community because 1) I'm a n00b and most of my icons are just cropped with slightly-edited coloring and 2) I'm too lazy to go looking for communities to join and share icons. :D

But I can pimp my stuff here because...well, because I can, and it's your own fault that I show up on your friends page! :P

Here is a table featuring some of the icons I've posted over there - hopefully you'll all be like 'OH WOW I MUST GO SEE THE REST OF THEM AND WATCH HER ICON JOURNAL AND SUCH'. :)

We got one of those Kodak all-in-one printers when we got the new desktop computer. My mom is currently worried that the ink will actually cost more because the light came on today to replace the ink cartridge.

Except that nobody has printed anything on the printer, so it's obviously a glitch of some sort. It's hard to use up all of the ink quickly when you don't use any at all. *lol* I'm going to have to try to find info on Google or something - or fiddle with the printer itself.

Glitch happens.

ETA: My sister got home, so she told me what happened (before I just had my mom telling me what my sister told her - and secondhand information is notoriously inaccurate, as we all know). Anyway, my sister saw the message when she printed off a few recipes this morning - which is hardly enough to do much of anything to the ink cartridge, much less use it up. But she said the message about the ink being low didn't show up the second time she used the printer, and when I just went and looked at it, it says the levels are full. So yeah - either a glitch, or it just hadn't registered the full ink cartridge before being used the first time. Either way, it's no biggie. :)

Classy. Here's an article about what happened, and here's the jackass's statement about the controversy. (I don't recommend reading the comments - remember, I live in North Carolina. I was dumb enough to read a few of them, and I had to click away before I broke my laptop slamming my head against it. Although they can't really be worse than what his 'statement' actually said.)

But holy shit, 399 million people in the US by 2050? And I read elsewhere that we'd probably have 9 billion people in the world by then. 9 billion. Our poor planet can only support so many human beings, and I think we've reached 'too fucking many' already. Humans aren't an endangered species, I don't know why we're breeding so much. *sigh*
